Welcome to Transition and Parent Programs

The Office of Transition and Parent Programs coordinates programs and services that provide diverse opportunities and a set of shared experiences and common information for new students. Transition and Parent Programs facilitates meaningful connections that aid students in personal development, encourage student responsibility, achieve academic integration, and build community as students transition into university life.

EmBark Orientation 2021 Schedule

In this unprecedented time, we have made the decision to host a hybrid EmBark Orientation for our incoming students and family members.  We will host virtual EmBark for both parents and students starting UNC Asheville from June 11 through June 25, 2021.  We will host an in-person August EmBark program from August 12-15, 2021.  Both June and August EmBark programs are mandatory to complete EmBark. Register for EmBark here!

Family EmBark Orientation Information

Family Members will have the opportunity to join us for a special Family EmBark Orientation Session that will be concurrent with your student’s Orientation. We will be discussing topics such as Campus Safety, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Housing, Dining and the Academic Experience. We will also be having a student panel so you can hear from current upperclassmen about their experiences and ask them questions about the University!

To close out our day we will give you some tips and tricks to make your students move-in and transition easier for both you and them. Your student can register you in their EmBark registration form and you will receive updates on Family EmBark Orientation.
