The Office of Student Transitions and Family Programs coordinates programs and services that provide diverse opportunities and a set of shared experiences and common information for new students. Student Transitions and Family Programs facilitates meaningful connections that aid students in personal development, encourage student responsibility, achieve academic integration, and build community as students transition into university life.

Spring EmBark 2022

EmBark Orientation at UNC Asheville is the first and most important step in becoming a Bulldog and is required for your success at UNC Asheville. During embark Orientation, you will learn about academic advising, UNC Asheville’s curriculum, course registration processes, campus resources, and much more. Each embark session is also packed with opportunities to meet other new students!

Our Spring EmBark Orientation for students joining UNC Asheville in January will take place on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 10:00am – 5:00pm.  This EmBark Orientation program will take place in person with check-in beginning at 10:00am in Highsmith Student Union. Attendees will need to show a negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours before check-in. More information about Covid-19 testing can be found here.
