Family members of students in any class - freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior - are strongly encouraged to attend!

UNC Asheville's Family Weekend brings together Bulldogs of all ages for a weekend filled with fun and UNC Asheville spirit! Get a sense of what it is like to be a student with our renowned back-to-class sessions, our annual picnic on the Quad, men's and women's soccer games, and Saturday evening's performance by Sailesh the Hypnotist!

Create new memories with your student and enjoy UNC Asheville's gorgeous campus as summer officially gives way to fall!

The following types of tickets are available for Family Weekend:

Please note that online sales for Family Weekend have ended. You are welcome to register as a walk-in during our normal check-in time from 3:30-5:00pm on Friday, September 21st or during check-in on Saturday, September 22nd from 8:45-10:00am.

Adult ticket: $35 (*if you are an alum of UNC Asheville, please include your graduation year with your last name)

ages 18 - 6: $20

ages 5 & under: free

*UNC Asheville students do not need to purchase a ticket in order to participate in Family Weekend.*

These tickets cover all Family Weekend-associated events except for the soccer games. The cost of soccer games are $6.00 for adults/$4.00 for children 5-17 (per game).

If you wish to attend an athletic event, you will be able to purchase tickets on-site or in advance by going to the UNC Asheville Athletics website (

Family Weekend Welcome Reception

Kick off this year's Family Weekend by mingling with the dynamic people who shape the academic rigor and creative climate of UNC Asheville at this drop-in reception. Stimulating conversation & delicious hor d'oeuvres are waiting for you at this event!

Back-to-Class sessions

These sessions will showcase our award-winning faculty and talented staff. You'll get a glimpse into the engagement and dynamic teaching and learning experiences that take place on our campus every day!

Family Weekend Picnic

Bring your family to enjoy a casual picnic on the University Quad with the rest of our campus community. Enjoy music and lawn games - and don't forget to bring your camera with you to capture the great memories you'll make during this event!

Sibling Stay Over

Siblings of current UNC Asheville students are invited to stay in the residence halls! Be sure to bring bedding for the sibling and any other toiletries needed for the evening. Registration for the stay-over will take place during Family Weekend check in.


Saturday Evening Entertainment: Sailesh the Comedy Hypnotist

After enjoying some down time with your family on Saturday afternoon, come back to campus to get a taste of evening and weekend entertainment provided by ACE (Asheville Campus Entertainment). Dubbed “The World’s Best Hypnotist,” by MTV Europe, Sailesh's live show has been described as a cross between a concert and the best party ever. He makes audience members the stars of the show, taking the entire audience on a journey using hypnosis, improv, music and interactivity to create a whole lot of laughter and a ton of fun!
