Veteran Center for Excellence

The Veteran Center for Excellence, opened in spring 2017, serves as a place for UNC Asheville veteran students to meet, relax, and study as well as to gather resources and foster support amongst each other and the campus community. It is the home of the Student Veterans Alliance and serves as their official meeting place throughout the year; Green Zone trainings, which help participants build a better understanding of the challenges that veteran students face, will also take place in the center.

Full of comfortable furniture, a large conference table, television, and small kitchenette, there is a sense of community, calm, and support designed specifically for the veteran student community.

The center was funded by a $10,000 Vet Center Initiative grant from the Student Veterans of America (SVA) and the Home Depot Foundation, a collaborative effort from students and staff.
