Veteran Student Graduation Celebration
UNC Asheville’s graduating veterans may choose to be recognized by wearing a red, white, and blue cord at Commencement. These cords, which are worn around the shoulders of graduating veteran students, signify UNC Asheville’s appreciation for our military and veteran students, as well as for their service and sacrifice.

All of our Veteran students have brought an immeasurable amount of knowledge, insight, diversity, and value to our campus community – both in and out of the classroom. We pause to thank our Veterans for their service to our country and for helping make UNC Asheville a better place for people from all walks of life and experiences to come together, explore ideas, and generate knowledge.
